Those who are interested in War Thunder probably already know about the incoming new Content Update, which will be released this September.
For those of you, who don’t know anything about War Thunder, I will give you a short summary. War Thunder is a free-to-play multiplayer, where you play and fight your way across air, land, and sea in the same battlefield. You fight on battlefields, that were recreations of their real world counterparts. Giant maps leave no space for limits, all vehicles have unique gadgets so there is a space for every playstyle.
Now, here are some details about the Update:
The initial line-up of Chinese vehicles available in War Thunder features tanks, fighter aircraft and bombers which were used during World War II or shortly after, and will show just how turbulent the history of the country’s military in the 20th century was. Due to the fact that China imported and has taken over the major parts of his war machines from other nations. There will be a quite various selection of vehicles from every military fabric in the world, like the German Henschels, Soviets MiG jets or American Patton tanks. A basic selection of vehicles from the Chinese fraction will be granted for every player. You can get fast access to all the vehicles by buying packs. There are two packs available, one for ground- and one for air vehicles. I would prefer to do it old school and just play but the devs have needs aswell.
At least, there has to be a reason, why the Update is called “Night Vision”. You don’t need your sherlock coat now. I will tell you the reason. It’s because of Night Vision! Who would have expected that?!
For real, it is quite nice and geniusly done in the technical way. If you use Night Vision (only possible for higer ranks), you will be able to see the heated parts of vehicles and make it easier to spot them. In the second in which this is an advantage, it is also a disadvantage at the same time, because it will become possible to turn of the tanks engine to decrease its temperature. For me it sounds like I have to expect sneeky tankdrivers in dark corners, waiting for their prey.
Anyway that’s all we know so far. It sounds like some nice new content for me and I look forward to it.
