Well, “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will have multiplayer. Crystal Dynamics said last week, that the game won’t have any multiplayer to focus all ressources on the singleplayer-experience. But now we have Microsoft, telling that there will be “multiplayer-features”. That’s all they said. Players can “extend their single-player campaign and compete with their friends”, which sound like some sort of online ranking for missions, playstyle etc. A feature I don’t really like. There is always this pressure when you play through a mission, like “You made it perfectly, but your friend has 50 points more” or “Tried that? FabulousPlayer123 tried the other way and gained far more points”. Of course it doesn’t sound like that in the game. But I want to play and enjoy a singleplayer campaign for myself, without statistics everywhere showing me who is better than me. If the multiplayer-feature is a small coop, that would be by far a better solution than online-rankings. But it sounds like everyone at “Rise of the Tomb Raider” knows what the other people are doing.
